Solar System
Experience exceptional off-grid living at Eye of the Grizzly Estate, situated 30 miles from the nearest power grid. In 2022, we upgraded our solar power system to a 25 kw capacity, featuring advanced control electronics and a 320-lithium cell battery bank, ensuring up to two days of autonomous energy supply. This robust system seamlessly powers all household amenities, large-scale refrigeration, an extensive lawn irrigation network, and 220V service for a full-scale woodworking shop. This solar system produces 90% of the estate’s electrical power. Heating is efficiently managed through a combination of wood stoves and propane-powered furnaces, supported by an on-site storage of 2,500 gallons of propane. Our commitment to sustainable living offers a harmonious blend of environmental stewardship and modern comfort.

Two Story complex
The ground floor features a fully equipped gym and a greenhouse, promoting health and sustainability. Above, three spacious ensuite bedrooms provide luxurious accommodations
Water Rights
All potable water for the facility is provided by an on-site well. The 160-foot deep well flows at 14 gallons per minute and provides water of bottling quality and great taste. It is tested annually and has never had a single issue.
Multiple Bay Workshops
This expansive facility includes a comprehensive woodworking shop, a fully equipped kitchen, and two bathrooms with cedar showers, catering to both creative and practical needs. Another Dedicated to laundry and storage, this building ensures that all logistical aspects are efficiently managed.
Climate
In the winter (December through February), temperatures can drop significantly, with average lows ranging from 14°F to -15°F. It’s not uncommon for temperatures to go even lower during cold snaps. During the summer (June through August), temperatures usually range from around 50°F to 70°F, but they can sometimes reach higher. The area experiences longer daylight hours in the summer months, making it an attractive time for outdoor activities.
Ice House
Serving as a large-scale cooler, it offers ample cold storage for perishables, supporting extended stays and large gatherings.
